The History of Phi Beta Chi

Phi Beta Chi was founded on March 26, 1978. Its mascot is the White Lamb, its song is “Now a Rose,” and its symbol is the Ellipse. The first line of its creed goes as follows, “We, the sisters of Phi Beta Chi, shall strive to be faithful and energetic Christian leaders and shall celebrate the Lutheran heritage.”

When it comes to philanthropy, Phi Beta Chi supports Bethesda Lutheran Communities, Rose of Sharon Education Foundation, and YMCA, where it works to continue its legacy of service and support for its communities.
